“Reality isn't just out there; it's how we interpret it.”

Saw this line while reading an interview with the author of "The Life of Pi" here...and no it's not some Math book...it's one very interesting book. Read it for yourself; to find out what it's about. I thought this line was so spiffy when I read it. It embodies my idea of reality perfectly. I've tried so hard to explain to my fellow members of humanity how each of us sees a reality however, each one of us has a different perception of what that reality is. Everyone has a different way they process what their senses tell them. Maybe it is because no one thinks exactly like another person. There may be similarities but there is always slight differences in the ways that makes them not the exact same. If everyone thought the same then that would not be thinking…it would be an automated response and hence we would not be human but some machine that exists.

We all go on and on about individuality being the very essence of who we are, and then accept a degrading level of conformity in virtually every facet of our lives. A perfect example is the new fashion trend. The products that look like they were doodled on randomly to look creative and unique but are actually mass produced by the thousands for people to buy so that they can look creative and unique when in reality are just looking like everyone else. Also, when someone comes along who does not look mass produced and is different from them (as in they actually are creative and unique) they are taunted because they don't look like everyone else. Sometimes I really don't understand the logic of other people. Or even, if they have any at all.
